Over The Monster Community Rules

Keep Comments Relevant Where Applicable

If you are commenting on an analysis post or a Minor Lines post, etc., please keep the comments to the matter at hand. Gamethreads are a little more lenient in terms of staying on topic. We do ask that you remain respectful, of course, and try to stay as rational as possible, but there is more leeway in terms of subject matter. There are also the Daily Links posts, where you can drop a comment on any Red Sox related matter. Consider that post the open thread of the day. Also, please don’t share illegal streams in the comments.

No Politics

This one is pretty self-explanatory. I know with everything going on in the world it’s tempting to discuss such things, but please keep those discussions to other sites.

Language

We do allow cursing here at OTM, but don’t go overboard. I realize this is kind of a vague rule, but we all know excessive swearing when we see it. A well-timed F-Bomb can really accentuate a point. Don’t abuse it.

Do not troll other sites

You may be tempted to go to other sites and comment on their posts, which is absolutely fine. We all love baseball and there are interesting things happening with every team in the league. Go read about what’s happening elsewhere and join in their discussions. However, do not go to other blogs simply to troll another fanbase. First of all, it’s childish. Second of all, you represent OTM whenever you venture into other comment sections and we will not tolerate our reputation being dragged down because of childish acts.

Be Respectful

This is the most basic rule and the most important one here at OTM, and all of the SB Nation blog network. We all have different opinions, and arguing different opinions is one of the best parts of being a sports fan. There are right and wrong ways to do this, though. Personal attacks will absolutely not be tolerated here.

If any poster's participation is clearly hindering the general populace's enjoyment of the site, then that won't be tolerated.

Hate speech will not be tolerated. Any whiff of racism, sexism, or any other -ism will be dealt with immediately.

This is a fun community, and if you follow the simple rules above there is no better place to discuss Red Sox baseball.
