As we discussed yesterday, it seems like things are moving in the GM/CBO/POBO search. And now we have reports that Craig Breslow has been selected for a second round of interviews, while the team has moved on from other candidates, including Thad Levine of the Minnesota Twins. It isn’t known whether anyone other than Breslow has been invited for round two, though presumably Eddie Romero remains in the mix. (Alex Speier, Boston Globe)

Meanwhile, we’re hearing rumblings that former Sox pitcher Andrew Bailey could be a candidate to replace Dave Bush as the team’s pitching coach. Bailey has held that position with the San Fransisco Giants for the past four years, but the Giants are reportedly in the midst of a big coaching staff shuffle. In truth, though, there’s nothing more to these rumblings other than the fact that the Sox have an opening and Bailey once played for them. At this juncture, it seems like nothing more will happen until a replacement for Chaim Bloom is named. (Chris Cotillo, MassLive)

Do you miss watching Pablo Sandoval and Rusney Castillo play ball (assuming you even ever saw Rusney Castillo play ball, that is)? Well, now is your chance to see them in action once more. Both players were selected in the inaugural draft of a new, Dubai-based baseball league. Both Sandoval and Castillo will play for the Abu Dhabi Falcons against teams from Dubai, Mumbai, and Karachi.
