Welcome back to another edition of The Over the Monster Podcast. As is the case most every week, it is Matt Collins and Bryan Joiner coming at you to talk about all the latest happenings in the world of the Red Sox. Also as is the case every week, just as a note this was recorded before Tuesday’s game against the Orioles.

We spent the first portion of this show going over all that transpired this past weekend at Fenway, reliving the Yankees series both in search for meaning and what effect it could have on the rest of the season — i.e. how worried, or not worried, we are about Nathan Eovaldi after his start, and what it means that the bullpen melted down so spectacularly without Garrett Whitlock — as well as some venting about some things — i.e. bad umpiring and letting foul ball pop ups fall in.

After getting that out of our systems, we turn our eyes ahead to the rest of this season and the team’s path to a potential postseason spot. We talked about how, despite the very bad, no good weekend, they still have a really solid path to the postseason if they can just beat up on bad teams, something they’ve been able to do in 2021. Before finishing up, we also talk about a few questions that stand out ahead of the offseason before giving our final, official predictions for how this wildcard race ends up.

We hope you enjoyed today’s show. If so, please subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts, and leave us a rating and a review. I’m told that’s helpful.
