Red Sox Minor Lines: Enderso Lira has another big day

And Miguel Bleis goes yard.

DSL Red L 7-8

Luis Ravelo, SS: 0-4, 1 K, 1 E

Miguel Bleis, CF: 1-4, 1 HR, 3 R, 1 RBI

Enderso Lira, DH: 3-3, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 R, 1 RBI

Axel James, LF: 1-3, 1 HR, 1 BB, 1 R, 3 RBI, 1 K

Cesar Ruiz (SP): 2 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 3 R, 2 BB, 1 K

With only the DSL and Triple-A seasons still going on — and for some reason Worcester has both Monday and Tuesday off for these last two weeks of their season — you can expect we’re going to put a little shine on Bleis whenever we can. He’s the top DSL prospect in the organization right now, and he’s showing off the big tools this year. Obviously he’s still very far away, but the flashes, including hitting a homer here, are exciting. Lira, meanwhile, is now 6-6 over his last two games and has 11 total bases in his last three games.

DSL Blue W 6-0 (F/7)

Juan Chacon, CF: 2-3, 1 2B, 1 R, 1 CS

Lyonell James, 3B: 2-3, 1 BB, 1 R, 1 SB

Armando Sierra, 1B: 2-4, 1 R, 2 K

Johnfrank Salazar, SS: 1-3, 1 3B, 1 R, 2 RBI

Angel Lopes (SP): 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K

Robinson Parra: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K

The pitching was really impressive here for the Blue squad, though it was a bullpen effort with five pitchers combining to get through the seven-inning game. Parra had the best day. He’s shown off big stuff his whole career — this is his third season in the DSL, which on its own is never a great sign — and has 25 strikeouts in 22 13 innings this year, but control is always an issue. This year he’s keeping it somewhat in line with 11 walks. It was also a nice showing for Chacon, who has just been steady this year and has an .813 OPS on the season.
