This was a tale of two games for Mayer, who had close to nothing at the plate in the first game but came through in a big way in game number two. His OPS on the year is at .833. Meanwhile, De La Rosa continues to impress since coming over from the Royals as a player to named later in the Andrew Benintendi deal. He’s now tossed 26 23 innings with Boston, pitching to a 3.04 ERA with 21 strikeouts and nine walks. As for Mejicano, he is not playing a whole lot but he’s hitting when he does. In 16 games the catcher is hitting .444/.463/.750.

Not a whole lot to say about the DSL slate on this day, though there were some solid performances. Lyonell James has had a few hot days this season, even if the year has been more good than great overall. He is in his first professional season after signing a $440,000 bonus. Reyes, meanwhile, got just shy of a $200,000 bonus and has a 3.16 ERA on the season.
