On this episode of the show, we call in the right-hander Keaton DeRocher to discuss Triston Casas’ legendary weekend and some hot starts after promotions throughout the organization.

We are back for Episode 26 of the Red Sox On Deck Podcast, your go-to source for everything prospects on the Over the Monster Podcast Network. Keaton DeRocher joined Bob, stepping in for Shelly this week. We started by discussing another week of numerous transactions, including the unexpected return of José Iglesias and Kutter Crawford’s major-league debut. Portland hasn’t played in five days due to rain and Covid for opponent Binghamton. Michael Gettys has transitioned to pitching, and Eduard Bazardo continues his rehab at Worcester.

Interesting minor-league performances were aplenty from the past week. Triston Casas had a two-day stretch for the ages last weekend, homering three times on Friday (in a doubleheader) and twice on Saturday. Keaton’s getting Anthony Rizzo vibes from Casas. Nick Yorke has seven multi-hit games in his last 13, and hit a game winning grand slam this week and is generally on fire. Same for Jay Groome who opened his Portland career with five shutout innings and ten strikeouts. Connor Seabold could be up as soon as this weekend, and his latest outing may have cemented that fact. Shane Drohan and Jeremy Wu-Yelland had great two-start weeks after we profiled them last week. And Marcelo Mayer has ten errors in 18 games, which is curious.

Bob went to a game in Worcester and discussed his takeaways from Jeter Downs and Connor Wong, and the best player in the building Chad De La Guerra, of course. We closed the show with some Keaton superlatives, with some great insight on Brayan Bello, Jay Groome, and Niko Kavadas.
