FanPost Friday: What to do in the bullpen

How would you handle the struggling Matt Barnes and all of the other moving pieces?

While the Red Sox are winning some baseball games right now, having won their last two series before starting a three-game set with Cleveland this weekend, they are certainly not a team without their issues. Boston’s most prominent problem that needs to be navigated at the moment is in their bullpen. Matt Barnes is struggling, and while it’s a clear choice to take him out of the closer role for now, it’s more complicated than that to fix the issues as a whole. In a way, moving him just moves the issue rather than solving it.

It’s easy, of course, for me to just say “Hey, that’s not going to be a perfect solution!” The difficult part is finding the perfect solution, or at least the closest thing to that. So I’m passing that responsibility off to you. For this week’s FanPost Friday, we want to know how you would go about solving this bullpen issue. Would you be working towards trying to get Barnes back into the closer role after a few low-leverage spots. Would you put Garrett Whitlock there full-time? How do you line up the other late-inning spots?
