The Red Sox have made another roster move prior to Thursday’s finale against the Twins that will shake up the outfield for a few days. Hunter Renfroe has been placed on the bereavement list, with Jarren Duran coming back up from Worcester to replace him on the roster. He’ll be playing center field on Thursday.

First and foremost, of course, we extend our condolences to Renfroe and his family for their loss. Per MLB rules, he will be out from three to seven days. In his absence, Duran should get some run in the outfield, with Kiké Hernández and Alex Verdugo likely playing every day. J.D. Martinez and/or Kyle Schwarber could get a game or two in the field as well.
Duran was just optioned back down to Worcester earlier this week to make room for Tanner Houck on the active roster. The rookie struggled to make contact in his first taste against major-league pitching, striking out 37 percent of the time while putting up a 56 wRC+.
