With the Red Sox looking for a momentum-building series this weekend against the Orioles, they get a big boost with Chris Sale rejoining the rotation. Nathan Eovaldi acknowledges that it’s not just the days Sale takes the mound that he’ll make an impact. (Darren Hartwell; NBC Sports Boston)

Sale is not the only player coming back to the Red Sox soon. Kyle Schwarber could be back as soon as this weekend. (Chris Cotillo; Masslive)

Schwarber was, of course, the big addition at the deadline. It remains to be seen if he’ll be the fix this Red Sox lineup needs, but Alex Cora has nothing but confidence in that being the case. (Julian Benbow; Boston Globe)

Whether it’s Sale or Schwarber or any of the other players on the comeback trail, the Red Sox desperately need these reinforcements. (Conor Ryan; Boston Sports Journal)

There has obviously been plenty of criticism directed at the Red Sox front office since the trade deadline, but Chaim Bloom doesn’t think it’s warranted. (Alex Reimer; WEEI)
