We are back for Episode 19 of the Red Sox On Deck Podcast, your go-to source for everything prospects on the Over the Monster Podcast Network. In this episode, Shelly and Bob attack the MLB Draft inside and out. The draft starts this Sunday at 7:00 PM ET for round one, continuing on Monday for rounds two through ten, and Tuesday for rounds 11-20. We started by bringing up the eight names that have been coming up most frequently within the top five picks, rumored to be in any and all orders.

In terms of who we want to see the Red Sox take, it is probably no secret but Shelly states her case for Louisville catcher Henry Davis while Bob states his for Vanderbilt RHP Jack Leiter. Could we see one of the top two prep shortstops fall to number four? Bob doesn’t want us to completely write off the other Vanderbilt righty Kumar Rocker despite a rocky finish to the collegiate season. We give our favorite outside of the top four targets, sleepers, and second and third round targets, such as Khalil Watson, Michael McGreevy, Peyton Stovall, Jaden Hill, our mutual love for East Carolina right-hander Gavin Williams. Plus, could another athlete named Isaiah Thomas find his way into Boston?

We finished the show hitting on some of the major news and notes from this past week, including RHP Tanner Houck’s rehab, two more gems from LHP Jay Groome, Triston Casas and Jarren Duran’s statuses with the Olympic team, Brayan Bello’s addition to the Futures Game arms, and Connor Seabold’s next step in his rehab.
