There was only one full-season affiliate that was able to go on Tuesday night thanks to rain down much of the East Coast, but they made it a hell of a game. Unfortunately, they came out on the losing end, but there were two big performances to talk about. We’ll start with Drohan, who left the game with a no-hitter in tow. Obviously that would not stick around too long, but it was still nice to see from the 2020 draftee. The righty has been very inconsistent this season, showing some of the rawness you’d expect from someone who has only just started solely concentrating on baseball over the last few years. But he’s allowed just one run over his last nine innings, so hopefully he’s found his footing and close out the season with style. What was most encouraging here was the control, which will be what we’ll be watching moving forward. He had eight walks in his previous two starts before this one.

We should also shout out Miller, who carried the offense. Miller came out of college a bit on the raw side in 2019, and while he did have a nice showing in the GCL that summer, this game is something of an anomaly compared to the rest of his season. Even after this performance his OPS his still below .600.

The big story down in the DSL on Tuesday was Miguel Bleis making his professional debut for the Red squad. The outfielder got the top bonus from the Red Sox in the most recent international signing class, and actually got the largest bonus given out by the team since 2017 when they signed Daniel Flores. He’s definitely the biggest name to watch at this level. I’d also give a shoutout to Santos, who wasn’t quite as dominant as last time out but has still allowed just a hit and three walks over his last seven innings without allowing a run and striking out 10. Over on the blue squad, Sierra is now 5-9 over his last two games with three doubles, while Salazar has a 1.083 on the season, starting off as the hottest hitter on either DSL squad.
