Red Sox vs. Blue Jays lineups: Bust open the Hatch!

The Sox will face a lightly experienced pitcher the day after a stunning, come-from-behind win.

Tricky Nick! Thank Frenchy for making me bring this back.

A day after one of the most satisfying wins of the season, the Red Sox host the Blue Jays for the first matchup of a four-game series behind Nick Pivetta (7:10 p.m., NESN, ESPN out-of-market).

Thomas Hatch will start for Toronto after being skipped last week on a rainout day. Hatch, who has extremely limited time in the majors, is replacing Alek Manoah, who hurt himself falling on the dugout steps and was potentially in line to go today but is throwing a simulated game instead. This will be Hatch’s first appearance in the show this year. If momentum is just today’s starting pitcher, the Sox might be able to carry it over from yesterday’s eighth inning.

The Jays start the series 9.5 games back of the Sox, who are back in first place after a brief weekend tie with Tampa Bay, who may be pursuing Max Scherzer, or so say the Twitterers. That would be bad. Also bad: It’s Xander’s day off. Boo the human body’s need for rest! It’s an outrage, I tells ya. American League Player of the Week (!) Kiké Hernández will slide over to shortstop in his absence. For what I believe is the first time this year, the Sox will host Connecticut’s own George Springer, who leads off as D.H. Traitor! Here are the full lineups, including traitors:
