Welcome back to another episode of the Over the Monster Podcast. We are back with you after a one-week hiatus as yours truly (Matt) couldn’t handle both Day Two of the draft and a podcast recording session. But this is your spot every week for the latest in Red Sox news and analysis.

As you have probably guessed, we start off today’s show talking about Jarren Duran. The two of us have been trying to guess when exactly Duran will be up all season long, so it was something of a cathartic experience to actually be able to talk about him in the majors. We talk about whether or not we were surprised to see him called up at this point in the year given the schedule, and whether this was the plan all along or if it was at least partially in reaction to how they entered the break.

From there, we move on to the draft with a quick recap of the top two selections and a little bit of a look at a few other intriguing selections as well. We also talk about the trade deadline and what the Red Sox will be looking at, Chris Sale’s road back, and a handful of other topics. We close things out with some listener questions, including one on Franchy Cordero and another on pizza toppings.

We hope you enjoyed today’s show. If so, please leave us a rating and a review, and subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts. We’ll be back with you next week!
