The Red Sox are riding high as they start the month of July and the official second half of the season with game 82 at Fenway. There will be some rain in the area throughout the day, so we’ll see how smoothly, or not, this one goes. As scheduled, things are set to start at 1:10 PM ET, with Nathan Eovaldi taking on Kris Bubic.

For the most part, the Red Sox have been winning despite their rotation in the last month, with the group finding itself in the bottom third of baseball in June. Eovaldi, however, has been the notable exception. He’s stepped up in a big way to claim the title of staff ace, and he’s looking to get it done today. The righty has been exceptional of late at dotting the edges of the zone, limiting walks and hard contact at the same time.

Over on the other side, the Red Sox are going up against a southpaw in Bubic who is one of Kansas City’s top prospects. The 23-year-old has split time between the bullpen and the rotation this year, but struggling a bit with his command. The Red Sox saw him briefly earlier in June, scoring a pair of runs over 2 23 innings on five hits, a walk and two strikeouts. Boston is sending up a lineup that very much looks like one playing a day game after a night game and flying across the country right after. They got Danny Santana and Marwin Gonzalez in at first base and shortstop, respectively, Xander Bogaerts DH’ing, and Connor Wong making his second career start behind the dish.

Here are the full ‘nups.
