The Red Sox look to pull off a sweep of the hated Yankees tonight in the Bronx (7:08 p.m., ESPN) behind Garrett Richards.
It has been a wonderful weekend in New York so far, with a start-to-finish victory on Friday night followed by a come-from-behind laugher on Saturday. What will tonight bring? Richards is coming off one of his more erratic starts, to which he is prone, but the way the Yankees are flailing around it may not matter. He’ll be matched by Domingo Germán, who apparently went 18-4 in 2019? Yeah yeah pitcher wins and losses don’t much matter, but 18-4! Domingo Germán! What a world we had in before times, eh? Apparently Mookie Betts was on the Red Sox too? Amazing!
Anyhow, a day after J.D. Martinez was a late scratch with a sore wrist, he was just a proper scratch today. And because of that the Sox are running out an identical lineup to yesterday’s, for which your lineup formatter is grateful.
