The Red Sox honor their historically talented, tiny, red-assed second base legend, Dustin Pedroia, before tonight’s rivalry game against the Yankees behind Martín Pérez (7:10 p.m., NESN, MLBN out-of-market).
We cannot improve on the hype from the team Twitter account:
The man.

There is only one Pedey, and this is his house. That his likely full-time replacement going forward is a dude named Jeter is one of those baseball things that just don’t seem right. But no reason to get down tonight. It’s a good day.
The ceremonies are well-timed, coming as they do after perhaps the most heartbreaking loss of the year, two days after the most uplifting win of the season. The Yankees have been on fire recently and are only 3.5 back, so every game counts. The buttheads from the Bronx start Domingo Germán, who has been pounded his last two times out and should really go for three in a row tonight. I’d appreciate it.
The lineup is basically the same as yesterday except Bobby Dalbec takes a seat and Michael Chavis rotates around to first base, with Marwin Gonzalez playing second and slotting into the ninth spot in the order. The Yankees have Gary Sánchez batting third, which is bad because they only do that when he’s feeling it, and he’s feeling it. The rest isn’t worth getting into here, but if you must know, you can see it below:
