Red Sox at Royals Lineups: Taking the show to the Midwest

But there will be no Andrew Benintendi.

The Red Sox are winners in their last three games, and they continue this road trip looking to double that streak in Kansas City. They start three against the Royals tonight, with Nick Pivetta taking on Kyle Zimmer starting at 8:10 PM ET.

Pivetta is looking to bounce back from his worst outing of his Red Sox tenure. The righty got hit all around by the Blue Jays last weekend in an outing that included four balls leaving the yard against him. He should have an easier time against this Royals lineup, though they certainly have a few guys who can leave the yard as well.

Over on the other side, the Red Sox are going up against Kyle Zimmer, who will serve as an opener. The righty has been great as a pure reliever all year, tossing 24 23 innings over 22 appearances, pitching to a 2.19 ERA with 24 strikeouts and 10 walks. They can likely expect to see Kris Bubic or Jackson Kowar following Zimmer. For the lineup, they’ll have their normal six in the middle joined by Christian Arroyo (shameless plug) playing second and leading off, while Marwin Gonzalez is at first with Danny Santana in center.
