For the second time in a week, the Red Sox enter the last game of a series with the Astros looking just to get on the board, this time behind Eduardo Rodriguez (7:10 p.m., NESN, MLBN out-of-market).
While the Sox may eventually fare better against the ‘Stros with Chris Sale on the mound, such dreams will have to wait. Right now they can’t do nothin’, or haven’t been able to, though hopefully tonight proves an exception. The bright side is that there’s no Houston on the schedule next week, too. That would stink!
Anyhow there’s not much to say after the last two games that isn’t a bunch of whining, so it’s time to whine! Just kidding. It’s time for the lineups. Alex Verdugo is back, which is good. They basically have the A lineup out there, which is good when you’re facing Zack Greinke, who is just an incredible human in many ways, including as a pitcher. They avoided him for the first six games of these two weeks, but no longer. It could be a long night.
