Garrett Richards and the Red Sox look to even their series with the Astros tonight (8:10 p.m.) and keep pace with the rest of the AL East after last night’s blowout loss.
Luis Garcia—one of several decent to good players in baseball with that name, strong name—gets the start for Houston. He’s pitched very well this season but the Astros are 3-7 in those games, which is the kind of trend we love to see, isn’t it folks?
As Matt and I discussed on a podcast that should come out tomorrow, this stretch of the year could well determine how the Sox approach the rest of the year. Will they earn a Chaim Bloom push all-in for, say, Max Scherzer? If so, now is the time to do it. Also the last two podcasts got eaten by The Aceves, so now you know what we said if It is still not sated.
