Red Sox vs. Marlins lineups: Return to Splash Mountain

There’s more rain in the forecast this afternoon, when the Sox will probably nonetheless face the Marlins, if recent history is any indication.

The Red Sox and Marlins return to the site of last night’s aquatic adventure for a Saturday afternoon baseball game (4:10 p.m., NESN) that will try to dodge yet more raindrops.

But the rain isn’t the scariest part of the day. That would be Trevor Rogers, Miami’s ace, who’s 6-2 with an incredible 1.75 ERA. He’ll face off against Nathan Eovaldi, who is doing Nathan Eovaldi things, generally, and now he’ll get to do them against one of his old teams. Provided, you know, the rain holds up. Or even if it doesn’t, as we’ve seen consecutive Sox games get soaked through and continue until it didn’t seem humanly possible to continue. Paging Aquaman!

Sir Bobby Dalbec is back in the lineup after a night off yesterday, if I recall it correctly. Turns out I do! I looked it up and everything. I go the mile for you. Not the extra mile, just the one, but still. Anyhow Danny Santana rides the pine, which might come in handy if and when the floods kick in, pine being floaty and all, but of course the pine isn’t literal anymore. Anyhow who cares here are the lineups:
