After the Red Sox were so hot, having won nine in a row and 10 of 11, they went out and lost a pair of game to the White Sox in one day on Sunday. It was a reminder of the ebbs and flows of a baseball season. (Sean McAdam; Boston Sports Journal)

The team doesn’t appear to be overly concerned by the tough doubleheader, though. Martín Pérez believes things will be just fine. (Tom Westerholm; Boston.com)

In one of the losses, the Red Sox offense was totally stifled by Michael Kopech, who of course came up through Boston’s system. Alex Cora was certainly impressed. (Chris Cotillo; Masslive)

On the Red Sox side, they are still very much liking what they see from Garrett Whitlock, and they are trying to balance his development for the future with his ability to help the team win games now, in the present. (Julian McWilliams; Boston Globe)

In the latest edition of the MLB.com power rankings, the Red Sox made the biggest leap of any team in baseball. (Alyson Footer; MLB.com)
