He’ll make his second start of the year against Dallas Keuchel and the White Sox.

Here we go again!

The Red Sox and White Sox suit up for the first of two 7-inning games today (1:10 p.m., NESN) as Tanner Houck makes his second start of the the year for first-place Boston.

A day after a victory in the Boston Marathon-themed journeys they’ll head back out in blue and gold again, hoping for more of this:

Except from someone else, because he’s not in the lineup.

The White Sox will counter on the mound with Dallas Keuchel, the former Cy Young Award winner who has historically kept his numbers low by keeping hitters off balance in what we’d call a near-perfect example of the “crafty lefty” phenomenon. This year has been rough to start (6.43 ERA), but better days are likely ahead, though hopefully this is not one of them.

The doubleheader on a Sunday injects a double dose of weirdness into the lineups; it’s a long day at the end of a long, albeit fruitful, week. Christian Vázquez gets the game off, as does Gonzalez, as mentioned, but the rest of the Avengers are all out there to so to speak. The White Sox lineup is as stacked as ever and it’s not even as good as it could be, for which you can thank Tony La Russa’s aversion to younger players. Thanks, Tones!
