Good morning and welcome back to another edition of The Red Seat podcast! We have a special show for you today, one that both Keaton and I look forward to every year—the superlatives show. On this episode we discuss our superlatives for the following categories:
- MVP Hitter
- MVP Starting Pitcher
- MVP Bullpen Arm
- Defensive Wizard
- Unsung Hero
- First Rookie Call Up
- Prospect to Pop
Keaton and I give our predictions for each with some reasons why. While most of these categories are self explanatory a few might require some explanation. For the first three categories MVP doesn’t necessarily have to be the best player, but rather the player who goes most above and beyond for the team. It can be the best guy, but doesn’t need to be. Defensive wizard is the team’s best defender. Unsung hero is the unexpectedly highly valuable player. Rookie call up is the first guy to get the call for an extended period of time. Finally, prospect to pop is a prospect that may not be a household name yet, but will be by the end of the season.
In addition to this fun exercise we get you caught up on all the latest news and notes. Why yes, if you were wondering Joel Payamps is gone again, not to worry, I’m sure he will be back in a week.
Lastly, we answered a bunch of your listener questions before ending the show.
We hope you enjoyed the show and if you did, make sure you subscribe to us on iTunes, Google Podcast, Spotify, or Stitcher. Also give the show a review.
