There has been some question about what the Red Sox are going to do in terms of their batting order this season, and for the most part it’s still up in the air. We know J.D. Martinez will not hit second, though. (Chris Cotillo; Masslive)

Bobby Dalbec will also not be batting second, presumably, but the rookie is in better shape and feeling good about the upcoming year. (Ian Browne; RedSox.com)

Last summer, the Red Sox shocked everyone by selecting Nick Yorke with their first round pick. It is still less than a year into the infielder’s pro career, of course, but the early returns make it seem as though Chaim Bloom may have known what he was doing. (John Tomase; NBC Sports Boston)

Nick Pivetta is a big X-Factor in Boston’s rotation this year, and he’s looking forward to a fresh start in a new organization. (Peter Abraham; Boston Globe)

Garrett Whitlock is looking to make the most of his chance after being selected in this year’s Rule 5 Draft. He got off to a good start Tuesday. (Sean McAdam; Boston Sports Journal)

The latest scouting report update from Sox Prospects includes some intriguing arms. (Mark Hanoian; Sox Prospects)
