Welcome back to another episode of the Over The Monster Podcast. On today’s show, it is Bryan and I trying to get through this period of spring training in which all anyone really wants is for camp to be over and for real games to start. We persevere. Heroic, I know.
With really no news to discuss at the top of the show, we jump into the crux of the program which is focused on the ZiPS projections for the Red Sox players this season, which you can check out here. (Note: These were published earlier in the winter, so some of the newer acquisitions will be found on their former club’s pages.) Specifically, we look at the projections for players who figure to play a key role in the season and picked one stat for each with which we played over/under. Some were pretty obvious, like Chris Sale’s innings, while others were much more difficult, like Christian Vázquez’s OBP.
That was the bulk of today’s show, but we did finish off with a handful of listener questions, including one on the idea of trading Michael Chavis and another on the expectations for Alex Verdugo’s defense in center field.
We hope you enjoyed today’s episode. If you did, please subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts, give us a rating and review, and recommend us to your friends. Until next time, have a great week.
