Hope springs eternal every spring, and this year is no different. For the past few weeks, we have been given every reason for optimism in 2021, as the team has performed extremely well early on. Presently, the Red Sox sit in third place in the Grapefruit League, behind only the Yankees and Marlins.
Granted, spring training is just spring training and the games don’t count for anything. But when you see a team performing well, you can’t help but hope the performance carries over into the regular season.
That said, there are always a couple of eventualities with the coming of the regular season. Some players will be hot, and some players very much will not. Someone will invariably surprise, and someone will also disappoint.
This weekend, your prompt is to write about a player who will disappoint us in 2021.
