Hirokazu Sawamura made his second spring appearance on Monday as he looks to hopefully play a big role in the Red Sox bullpen this year. The early looks have not been good, but the team isn’t really surprised there’s been an adjustment period. (Peter Abraham; Boston Globe)

Over in the rotation, the performances have been mostly good, which is a very nice thing to see after the dumpster fire that was last season. Alex Cora has commented on how deep the group looks right now. (Jacob Camenker; NBC Sports Boston)

As deep as it may be, especially relative to last season, it’s still largely average and the team will need its offense to compete. (Jason Mastrodonato; Boston Herald)

The Red Sox provided some injury updates on Monday, including news that Danny Santana had to be admitted to the hospital with a foot infection. (Christopher Smith; Masslive)

What can we look for in the year to come for top prospect Triston Casas? (Dakota Randall; NESN)

Rob Bradford provides a list of things to know with spring training about halfway over. (Rob Bradford; WEEI)
