The 2021 Spring Training Broadcast Schedule

How to watch, and listen, to games this spring

We have just finished up our final work week without baseball for the next eight months. Well, we hope. After last year, I know better than to speak definitively about anything. But all of that is to say that we are just a couple days away from spring training getting underway in terms of game action, and not much longer in terms of being able to watch on TV. On Thursday, NESN announced that they will be broadcasting 11 games through the spring. That doesn’t mean that’s the only game you’ll be able to watch.

Every year, we publish a full viewing and listening guide for spring training baseball. Today, we unveil it, although it is still incomplete as of this initial publishing. The goal is to have every way to catch a game covered. That includes the aforementioned NESN broadcasts, but it also includes WEEI radio broadcasts, national TV broadcasts, and road broadcasts for both TV and radio. Right now, we only have NESN and ESPN. I am still waiting to see a schedule from WEEI as well as MLB Network.

As far as the road broadcasts go, those are also incomplete. This year’s spring training schedule is different than previous years due to COVID, as teams will be playing a smaller range of teams. The vast majority of Boston’s schedule, for example, is against the Twins, Rays and Braves. The Pirates and Orioles have a couple games each sprinkled in as well. Of those teams, only the Twins have released their TV schedule.

All of which is to say, here’s the initial schedule, and check back for updates when they’re available. We’ll have this pinned on the front page all spring.
