The offseason is officially upon us with the Atlanta Braves taking down the Houston Astros in six games to win the World Series, and the Red Sox now have the tall task of moving from good to great. This is a big offseason for the organization, with Chaim Bloom having to balance building a roster good enough to compete for a championship while also trying to maintain, to some extent at least, his building of the minor-league pipeline. And that’s without even getting into the CBA stuff that will rule discussions of the league for much of the coming winter.
But for now, we’re going to ignore that and just look at the Red Sox offseason as if it were to carry on as normal. Let’s just think about the roster and what needs to be improved and supplemented, and where maybe some deals could be made. What is your wishlist for this winter? This can include specific targets, position groups in general, or extensions for players already under contract. What are you hoping to see from the Red Sox this winter?
