Welcome back to another episode of the Over the Monster Reaction Pod. Today we look back at Game Five of the ALCS at Fenway, where the Astros took down the Red Sox 9-1 to take a 3-2 series lead heading back to Houston.
Jake and Bob took the reins on this one and spent the start of the show talking about the Red Sox hitting over the last 24 hours at Fenway. Was tonight’s game about Framber Valdez, the unfortunate timing of cold bats, or a mix of both?
Moving along to Chris Sale, the first five innings was the best he has looked all year, hitting 98.5 MPH on the fastball and impressing with his command. We discussed whether Sale should have started the sixth and, most importantly, whether he should’ve faced a red hot Yordan Alvarez for a third time.
We finished the episode looking ahead to the pitching matchups in Game Six (and possibly, Seven) in Houston and if there is any chance of winning two games on the road. We hope you enjoyed today’s show, and if you did please subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.
