It seems like forever ago that J.D. Martinez rolled his ankle jogging out to take the field in the regular season finale. But he’s been playing well at less than 100% in this postseason run, and he credits the injury to some extent. (Alex Speier; Boston Globe)

It ended up being the only bit of offense in the game for the Red Sox, but Xander Bogaerts’ homer on Tuesday gave Boston their 21st of the postseason. That’s a franchise record. (Sean T. McGuire; NESN)

Kyle Schwarber has been earning fans in New England for a couple months now, but Waltham specifically has even more reason to get attached. (Scott McLaughlin; WEEI)

Christian Arroyo, after not playing for most of September, is starting to swing a hot bat. He gives some credit to Bobby Dalbec, who finds himself not playing much of late. (Steve Hewitt; Boston Herald)
