The Red Sox and Blue Jays play the rare Friday afternoon game — hello, seven inning doubleheader! — when they square off at Fenway Park today at 4:10 p.m.
Zack Godley starts for Boston, while Tanner Roark tosses for Toronto. This is one of 20 games today... there haven’t been that many games in one day in about 100 years. Blessedly the Sox have two games, because what’s better than one loss when you’re tanking? Two losses!
“Tanking” is very much the word, given the pitchers involved, but obviously the Sox are trying to win. Just not as hard as other teams, who make trades for helpful players and stuff for this year. Anyhow, maybe seven innings will help. Actually it definitely helps. Can we make the games even shorter? Would anyone complain (besides the editor of this site, who hates the seven inning games as it is)? Let’s do a three spot, do another, then hit the shores. Because Rowdy Tellez is back. And otherwise it might be a looooong day.
