The Red Sox Pre-Cap Podcast: Recapping the Braves, Previewing the Blue Jays

Not a great week so far!

In the first game of this week’s three-game set against the Braves, Max Fried continued his dominant season and Colten Brewer continued getting rocked as the Braves took the victory. The bullpen behind Brewer was solid, allowing only one run over five innings, but by the time the bullpen got in the game the damage had been done as Brewer allowed five earned over four-plus innings. Alex Verdugo did his best to generate some offense, smacking three doubles in a losing effort. Tuesday’s game was another bullpen game that Ryan Weber started, going four innings and allowing only two earned runs. This one was close until Kyle Hart was rocked for six runs in the 8th inning. Marcell Ozuna did most of the damage for Atlanta, blasting three home runs in the eventual blowout. The finale was closer but saw yet another three-homer performance from the Braves lineup, this time from Adam Duvall (and just for fun, Ozuna did launch another one). After the Red Sox jumped out to a three-run lead in the first, Atlanta rode the long ball to a 7-5 win.

Next up for the Red Sox is a five-game set against the new-look Blue Jays, who were one of the more active clubs leading up to the deadline. Subscribe to the Over The Monster Podcast Network where ever you get your podcasts so you never miss an episode!
