Right before the Red Sox got started on Sunday in their final game of the season, Chaim Bloom spoke to the media and explained the organization’s rationale for moving on from Ron Roenicke. (Jen McCaffrey; The Athletic)

This doesn’t necessarily mean it was the wrong decision by the team, but it’s impossible to deny Roenicke was not put in a position to succeed. (Sean McAdam; Boston Sports Journal)

Xander Bogaerts, for his part, had nothing but nice things to say about his now former manager. (Trevor Hass; Boston.com)

As soon as the news came down about Roenicke, speculation for Alex Cora coming back as manager began. Bloom isn’t saying much about that. (Rob Bradford; WEEI)

Is it really possible they bring Cora back, though? (Peter Abraham; Boston Globe)

In non-managerial news, the Red Sox may also be moving forward without Jackie Bradley Jr., who is a free agent this winter. Count Bogaerts among those who doesn’t want to see that happen. (Lauren Campbell; NESN)

The Red Sox will pick fourth in the draft if it is based on 2020 record. (Christopher Smith; Masslive)
