Red Sox vs. Orioles lineup: The last home game

Fenway Park is about to get even quieter until 2021

MLB: Baltimore Orioles at Boston Red Sox Paul Rutherford-USA TODAY Sports

Today is the final Red Sox home game of the 2020 season. Remarkably we’re just three games away from a sad, strange season coming to a close. The action kicks off once more in Boston tonight at 7:30 before the Sox travel to face the Atlanta Braves.

Martín Pérez makes his final start of the year in what can be described as a surprise season. His overall line doesn’t look amazing, but in a season where the pitching was abysmal, Pérez was solid, and he’s been coming on even stronger of late to finish things off. In the lineup, as we discussed earlier today, it could be Jackie Bradley Jr.’s final game at Fenway.

On the mound for the O’s is Alex Cobb. Once on track for a nice future with the Tampa Bay Rays, Cobb has seen his fortunes and health fall apart and his life shift to Baltimore. With one year remaining on his deal the Red Sox will see Cobb, who grew up admiring David Ortiz, throughout 2021.
