OTM Open Thread 9/17: It is Thursday

Boston Red Sox v Miami Marlins Photo by Michael Reaves/Getty Images

Happy Thursday everyone. The Red Sox have a day game today as they finish up their series against the Marlins. Each side has taken a game to start things off, making today the rubber match in a series that is actually fairly important for a Miami team looking for a playoff berth. Boston will be sending Nathan Eovaldi to the mound while the Marlins counter with José Ureña. First pitch is set for 1:10 PM ET. It is very good and cool that this is an afternoon game, because tonight is Game Two of the Eastern Conference Finals over in the NBA as the Celtics look to even things up against the Heat. That one tips at 7:00 PM ET. In the NHL bubble, the Lightning are once again looking to finish off the Islanders and advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. That one starts at 8:00 PM ET. There’s also some NFL action between the Bengals and Browns as well as the first round of the US Open, golf edition. use this space to discuss whatever you’d like. As always, just be nice to each other.

Thing I Like Today

Should probably start getting in the habit of this again, I think. I very much enjoyed this exchange between Panthers players on their mascot.
