The Red Sox are making a big move (relatively speaking, at least) for Tuesday’s game, with Tanner Houck getting the call for his major-league debut. The former first-round pick, as one would expect, is extremely excited for the opportunity. (Julian McWilliams; Boston Globe)

It is no secret that the Red Sox have had many issues in developing successful, homegrown pitchers. The hope is that Houck isn’t just a rare success story on that side of the ball, but also the first of a string coming up soon. (Chad Jennings; The Athletic)

With Houck coming up, it is a good time for an updated scouting report from Sox Prospects. They also provide one for C.J. Chatham. (Ian Cundall; Sox Prospects)

In non-Houck news, Christian Arroyo is getting his chance to make an impression before the end of the year, and over the last two games in Tampa Bay he showed he was not going to waste it. (Sean McAdam; Boston Sports Journal)

Christopher Smith has an update on some of the players recently traded away by the Red Sox. (Christopher Smith; Masslive)

Sunday’s win notwithstanding, the Rays have dominated the Red Sox over the last couple years. How did we get here? (Rob Bradford; WEEI)
