The Red Sox lost again last night. The actually had the lead! They were up 1-0. They lost 5-1. I know this isn’t the recap post, at least not for tonight, but this is nearly beyond parody. Remember when John Henry scoffed at the idea this was “a bridge year?” He was right. We’re not on a bridge. They’re falling.
The descent continues at 6:40 p.m. tonight in St. Pete. It’s Martín Pérez vs. Ryan Yarbrough. They are both lefties. For our sakes, that means no Andrew Benintendi or Mitch “apparently the entire offense” Moreland are off. Does it matter? Probably not. On the bright side, only 49 games to go!
