Happy Saturday everyone. The Red Sox have been blown out in each of their last two games (and many more times beyond that this season!) but will look to reverse the tide on Saturday with their second game of the series against the Nationals. They’ll have Chris Mazza on the mound while Washington starts old friend Aníbal Sánchez. First pitch is set for 7:30 PM ET. Meanwhile, the NHL is back today and it starts off with the Bruins taking on the Lightning for Game Four of their series. The B’s look to tie things up after an ugly loss in Game Three to fall behind 2-1. Puck drops at 12:00 PM ET at noon for this one, and it’s the first of three NHL games today. There are also three NBA games today, starting with the Bucks and Magic at 3:30 PM ET. The Bucks, of course, were the first team across sports to sit out in protest this week. Use this space to discuss whatever you’d like. As always, just be nice to each other.
Thing I Like Today
I certainly don’t like this, but I wanted to take a second to say RIP to Chadwick Boseman, who passed away on Friday after a fight with colon cancer. Boseman, of course, was one of our best actors, most famous for playing T’Challa in Black Panther and also for playing Jackie Robinson in 42. It is cruel irony that he passed on the day MLB was celebrating Robinson. He was not only a truly spectacular actor, whose performances now carry even more weight knowing what he was suffering through while filming movies over the last five years or so, but also a great human. I’ll leave you with this video from the Tonight Show following the release of Black Panter.
This was amazing. @chadwickboseman surprises #BlackPanther fans while they say what the movie means to them. pic.twitter.com/ZXnfLuV83f
