Over the past twenty years, the Red Sox have experienced considerable success. This millennium has been very kind to our team. With four World Series titles, ten playoff berths, and a combined record of 1792-1447 (.553) in the regular season, we certainly haven’t had a whole lot to complain about when it comes to the 2000’s Boston Red Sox.
That said, this week is about celebrating sadness, because even though it’s not fun to feel sad, it is an important aspect that helps to show the power sports show and the impact it can have on our day to day lives. Without sadness, my belief is you can’t experience true happiness and elation, because you have nothing to compare it to.
So readers of OTM, I ask you a very simple question:
In what season were you most disappointed by the Red Sox?
I noted above that the Sox have experienced a lot of success in twenty years. That doesn’t mean you have to stick to the modern game. You can go as far back as you’d like for this prompt. Just tell us what season made you sad, and why.
I look forward to reading your tales of sorrow!
