We are back with a new episode of The Over The Monster podcast for you this week. Jake got the week off this time around, leaving it to Keaton and myself to take care of business. Fortunately, there actually was a bit to talk about this time around. The bulk of the first part of the podcast was spent breaking down a few different areas of the agreement between MLB and the Players Association. We discuss the service time issue and the possibility that Mookie Betts could end up not playing a game for the Dodgers, the changes to the draft and what the means for the future of the minor leagues, the possibility of playing a bunch of doubleheaders and Scott Boras’s plan to play until Christmas if need be.
After that, we quickly go over what a 29-man roster could look like as well as the tough question of Chris Sale’s Tommy John surgery and undergoing it at this time in the country before getting to some listener questions, including questions about the top prospects, Mookie versus Bo Jackson, John Valentin and a breakdown of different pitches.
As I believe is legally obligated whenever someone talks about their podcast, this is the spot I ask you to tell other people about us and to also subscribe, rate and review. I have been led to believe that is an important thing for podcasts.
