Red Sox vs. Cardinals Lineups: Brian Johnson is battling

The lefty looks to grab the final rotation spot.

I’m a little bit on the busy side today so we are going to make this one extremely quick. The Red Sox host the Cardinals this afternoon for a matchup that starts at 1:05 PM ET. There is, unfortunately, no TV broadcast for this one. Brian Johnson gets the start for Boston as he looks to hold his perceived lead (at least in my eyes) for that fifth and final rotation spot. He’s had a good spring so far, but he’s going up against a solid Cardinals lineup including top prospect Dylan Carlson, who has killed spring training so far.

On the other side, it’s a lineup full of regulars for the Red Sox. It’s pretty damn close to what the Opening Day group is likely to be, with just one probable difference. Jonathan Araúz is batting ninth and playing second base, a spot that will be occupied by either José Peraza or Michael Chavis on most nights. Beyond that, it’s all starters and they get a real test on this Tuesday afternoon going up against Cardinals ace Jack Flaherty.

The full lineups are below:
