Welp, it looks like it may finally be happening. We’ve heard for days now that a trade that would send Mookie Betts to the Dodgers is imminent, but we have the strongest reports yet. As first reported by Jon Heyman and then quickly confirmed by Alex Speier, talks between the two sides are heating up and in advanced stages. Speier notes that a trade could potentially happen tonight.
Like @JonHeyman, hearing that Mookie Betts talks have heated up. Red Sox are in advanced conversations with the Dodgers. A deal tonight is possible, per major league sources.

As I was writing this, Speier added that medicals are being exchanged and David Price is also heading to L.A.
Re: Betts trade -- It would send Betts and Price to the Dodgers, pending review of medicals, per sources. Medicals are currently being exchanged.

Per Ken Rosenthal, outfielder Alex Verdugo would be the centerpiece coming back to Boston.
Both Mookie Betts and David Price would head to Los Angeles if #RedSox and #Dodgers complete their blockbuster, a source tells The Athletic. Alex Verdugo would be centerpiece for Boston. Deal could be in place tonight, per @alexspeier. Would require completion of medical reviews.

At this point, the sooner the better. I’m as sick of waiting for this as anyone else, and even as someone who in no way wants Betts to be sent out of town, nothing is worse than the waiting. As of now, of course, we don’t know who else is potentially involved in this deal. Other names that have been speculated in the last few days have been infielder Jeter Downs, left-handed pitcher Caleb Ferguson, catcher Keibert Ruiz, and right-handed pitcher Josiah Gray.
We’ll keep you updated when more information comes, but it sure seems like this is just about done.
Update 1:
Rosenthal says there may be a third team involved.
Involvement of third team also possible in #RedSox-#Dodgers blockbuster, source tells The Athletic. Again: Betts and Price would go to Dodgers, Alex Verdugo and others to Boston.
