The Over The Monster Podcast: Trade talks with San Diego?

Are the Red Sox about to make another big splash in spring training?

MLB: Spring Training-Tampa Bay Rays at Boston Red Sox Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Good Morning! Baseball is back. I’ve been waiting for many a cold month to write those words and it feels so good. Now that spring training is officially here it’s time to start overreacting to players performing well or poorly over a minuscule sample size, following BSOHL nonsense while trying to compare players to their 2019 pictures, and prognosticating about how teams will perform.

On this episode of the show Keaton and I cover the big rumor out of San Diego that the Red Sox may be involved with the Padres and potentially a third team in working on a second blockbuster. The trade, which is not imminent and which we know far to few details about, would send Wil Myers to Boston along with half of the roughly 61MM he is owed. In return the Red Sox would get some quality, much-needed prospects to bolster the system. Sounds like a great idea and something Bloom should be involved in.

We also touch on some roster moves and the addition of bench coach Jerry Narron. We also tackle five big questions about the team this year before answering a whole bunch of questions provided by you the listeners.

Thank you very much for tuning into this edition of the podcast. You can find both myself, Jake Devereaux (@DevJake) and Keaton DeRocher (@TheSpokenKeats) on Twitter at those locations. Make sure you go on and rate and review us giving us five starts. We appreciate you and look forward to a fun year of baseball and Red Sox talk.
