Fanpost Friday (on a Monday): Favorite Mookie Memories

Mookie Betts was traded. Wow.

It’s been a long road, and we’re finally here, and I just... I need some time alone. This will be brief.

A lot of words have been written over the past couple of months about Mookie’s impending free agency. Some of them aren’t good, as a certain subset of fans seem intent on lambasting Mookie for not accepting a contract extension, or calling him greedy for reportedly wanting to get paid a ton. My goal is for the words we write in response to this week’s prompts to actually be positive and for us to remember Mookie for what he was for the Red Sox: an excellent baseball player.
