Red Sox at Rays Lineups: J.D. Martinez returns

Last night it was Mookie, now it’s J.D.

Keeping this one nice and short because I’m running behind and still have a few errands to run before first pitch. The Red Sox get J.D. Martinez back after a little bit of an absence, and the slugger will be back in the cleanup spot serving as the DH. Mookie Betts is still back in the lineup, despite the fact that it was believed he’d avoid the field this weekend. Instead, he’ll be back in right field. Brock Holt does remain in the lineup, playing in left field with Andrew Benintendi getting the day off. Alex Cora has said he wants Marco Hernández getting at bats down the stretch, and my guess is he wants to give Brock Holt plenty of playing time as well as he gets set to hit free agency.

On the other side, Travis Lakins gets the start as Boston is going with a bullpen game. Tampa Bay is starting Tyler Glasnow. I’m not sure how long they’ll stick with him, as they are trying to build him up but they are also at the point where they really have to push their chips in and be as aggressive as possible in a tight postseason race.

The full lineups are below.
