Do you really want to read about this game? Because I really don’t want to write about it. Here’s the short version. The Red Sox pitching started off well, with Bobby Poyner and Trevor Kelley combining for three perfect innings. Of course, the Red Sox offense couldn’t do anything either, and then things imploded in the fourth. It all started with a bad defensive play from Rafael Devers and Andrew Benintendi that was somehow called a hit. From there, everything went wrong. Toronto got two runs in the inning after that play, and then they scored six in the fifth. That was that. It was bad and I hated it a lot.
The Red Sox and Blue Jays finish off their series Thursday night in Toronto. Jhoulys Chacín will start another bullpen game for the Red Sox while old friend Clay Buchholz starts for Toronto. First pitch is at 7:07 PM ET.
