After winning two in a row in Colorado and two of three in San Diego before that, the Red Sox are looking to finish off this big-time road trip with another series victory against the Angels. They’ll be looking for a bit of revenge from the last time these two played just a few weeks ago, when Boston won the first two at home before the Angels came back and took the next two. Those two losses kicked off a rough stretch for Boston at a time when they really needed wins to avoid falling out of the postseason chase. Now, they find themselves creeping back in, and a big series this weekend would really be the cherry on top.

The Red Sox have spent each of their last two series in NL parks, so it will be nice to get the DH back in the lineup for this one. They also get one of their best bats in the lineup as well, with Andrew Benintendi starting once again. The left fielder has been out for a few games with tightness in his side. J.D. Martinez is not manning the DH spot for this one, though. Instead, he’ll be in right field with Mookie Betts sliding over to center and Sam Travis at DH. Jackie Bradley Jr. gets the day off. Meanwhile, with the left-handed José Suarez on the mound for L.A., Christian Vázquez is playing first while Sandy León catches.

On the other end, Nathan Eovaldi gets the start for the Red Sox. He’s struggled with command and fatigue in his last two outings, his first back in the rotation since his injury early in the year. With the team going with a bullpen game on Saturday, it will be interesting to see how hard they push the righty against the likes of Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani and Albert Pujols.
