We’re keeping this one short because, well, as I’ve mentioned before the late games kill me and I need a little sleep! The Red Sox are coming off an offense-fueled victory on Tuesday to kick off this short series in Colorado. With a win on Wednesday they can pick up a quick sweep and continue to do everything they can to put themselves back in the playoff race. It’s been tough to make up ground during this stretch, as Boston is playing good baseball of late but still finds themselves six games back due to Oakland and Tampa Bay refusing to lose. All they can do is win the games on their own schedule, though, and hope for the best.
With that in mind, they are going with the exact same lineup on Wednesday as the one that dropped ten run in Denver the night before. Well, pretty much the same lineup. The pitcher spot is, of course, the only one changing with Eduardo Rodriguez looking to continue his recent hot streak after Rick Porcello put up a strong performance on Tuesday. Rodriguez hasn’t allowed a run in his last two starts, both of which went at least seven innings. Offensively, it’s the same group with means no Andrew Benintendi while Mitch Moreland and Brock Holt make up the left side of the infield.
The full lineups are below.
