Pawtucket L 2-8
C.J. Chatham, SS: 1-4
Rusney Castillo, DH: 1-4
Bobby Dalbec, 3B: 0-4, 2 K
Josh Ockimey, 1B: 0-4
Josh Smith: 3 IP, 12 H, 7 R, 0 BB, 2 K (71 pitches)
Tanner Houck: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K (33 pitches)
Jenrry Mejia: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K (23 pitches)
Ryan Brasier: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K (13 pitches)
By and large this was a forgettable game for the PawSox, whose offense just had absolutely going all day. Combine that with a brutal performance from Smith and it was a loss right from the get-go. The good news is they got another good performance from Brasier, who at this point is just waiting for an opening in the majors. They also got a huge day from Houck. The righty has been inconsistent since joining Pawtucket’s bullpen, but the raw talent is still there and a September call-up could very well be in his future.
Portland L 3-5
Jarren Duran, CF: 2-4, 1 SB, 1 E
Marcus Wilson, RF: 0-4, 1 K
Joey Curletta, 1B: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 R, 1 K
Charlie Madden, C: 1-3, 1 HR, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 K
Denyi Reyes: 5 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 2 K (95 pitches)
Durbin Feltman: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K (9 pitches)
The streak is over. Reyes had been an absolute machine over the last couple of months, at least in terms of getting through at least six innings. He’d gone that long in 14 straight outings, but couldn’t keep it going on Thursday. This was his first outing of fewer than six innings since May 19.
Salem L 0-1
Ryan Fitzgerald, 3B: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Pedro Castellanos, 1B: 0-3, 1 BB
Devlin Granberg, LF: 0-4, 1 K
Jhonathan Diaz: 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 5 K (96 pitches)
Joan Martinez: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K (19 pitches)
I got nothing on this one.
Greenville L 1-5
Tyler Esplin, RF: 0-2, 2 BB
Kole Cottam, 1B: 0-4, 2 K
Korby Batesole, SS: 2-4, 1 RBI
Chase Shugart: 5 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K (90 pitches)
After pitching consistently well after starting his season with a suspension, Shugart has been a little up-and-down over his last few outings. This is the third time he’s allowed at least four runs while going no more than four innings, but then he mixed an an eight shutout inning performance last time out. All in all it’s been a great year for the righty, and having just been drafted last year it’s understandable seeing him slow down as the season comes to a close, even in a shortened season.
Lowell G1 L 0-3
Gilberto Jimenez, CF: 0-3
Cameron Cannon, SS: 0-3, 1 K
Nicholas Northcut, 3B: 0-2, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 CS
Nick Decker, RF: 0-2, 1 K
Ryan Zeferjahn: 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K (38 pitches)
Lowell G2 L 7-8
Gilberto Jimenez, CF: 1-3, 1 R
Cameron Cannon, 2B: 0-4
Joe Davis, 1B: 2-4, 1 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, 1 K
Marino Campana, RF: 1-2, 1 HR, 1 BB, 2 R, 2 RBI, 1 K
Alex Erro, 3B: 2-3, 1 2B
Jonathan Diaz, C: 1-3, 1 HR, 1 R, 1 RBI
Antoni Flores, SS: 0-3, 3 K
Yusniel Padron-Artilles: 3 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 6 K (59 pitches)
This was a tough doubleheader for Lowell, particularly in that second game. There, the Spinners grabbed a lead in the top of the seventh thanks to Davis’ two-run shout, only to have the bullpen go out and allow two more in the bottom seventh to give Staten Island a walkoff victory. There were some good power swings from the Spinners in that second game, but overall there’s not a ton to be thrilled with here.
GCL L 4-5
Angel Maita, CF: 3-5, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 SB

Dean Miller, LF: 2-4, 1 3B, 1 HR, 1 R, 2 RBI, 2 K
Matthew Lugo, SS: 1-4, 1 K, 1 E
DSL 1 L 3-5
Albert Feliz, 1B: 2-4, 1 HR, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 K
Eduardo Lopez, CF: 2-4, 1 RBI
DSL 2 L 2-6
Bryan Gonzalez, RF: 1-4, 1 K
Naysbel Marcano, C: 2-3, 1 2B, 2 BB
